According to researchers, there are 6,500 languages used in the world today. Out of all these languages, I have always appreciated having Korean as my first language. The Korean language is called 'Hangul' and was created by King Sejong during his authority in the Joseon dynasty. Korean characters are formed based on scientific research and practices. "The verbally right sounds meant to teach the people." The ultimate reason for King Sejong to create Hangul (Korean) was to give the public the ability to read and write.

Hangul consists out of 14 consonants and ten vowels.

When my friends, who haven't seen Korean characters before, saw the Korean language, they found it very interesting and distinctive, so they wanted to learn the language. My main goal with this project is to make Korean characters easily approachable to anyone who has never seen them before and who wants to gain a better understanding. The characters are newly created based on a mask called 'Hahoetal', which used to be worn for performances back in the days in Korea. These masks are very well known for their smiley faces, which are meant to make the public laugh.
